Since the 1800s, rolling chairs have been a fixture on the Atlantic City boardwalk. The pace is leisurely and romantic, the guides are friendly, and a trip can be as brief as one or two blocks, or as long as the boardwalk itself. Although hours or operation vary from operator to operator, you can usually hail a rolling chair from the early morning hours well into the night. Rates vary as well, but you can expect to pay about $5 plus tip for a one-to-two block trip. .
